Why ‘Earthing’, also known as ‘Grounding’, is necessary for our bodies and ways we can properly connect with our Earth.
There is an ancient wellness concept that has been becoming fairly popular recently known as; ‘earthing’ or ‘grounding’. Earthing/grounding is defined as; a transfer of energy between the skins direct contact with the earths surface electrons. In a society dominated by industry and technology it’s no surprise that humans are disconnected from the ground beneath their feet. We spend most of our time walking around on rubber soles atop blacktop or, we find ourselves inside our homes and offices being subjected to electromagnetic
radiation in the forms of internet, electronics, and electricity. Esoteric science, as well as modern science, shows that; when our relationship with the Earth suffers - our relationship with our body suffers.. The following information is intended to explain why earthing is necessary, and ways we can properly connect our bodies with our Earth’s surface. The Science and Research Our human bodies are considered bio electrical. This means that we experience the phenomenon of electric energy in our cells and living tissue. Each of our cells transmit multiple electric frequencies to one another allowing for the functioning of our hearts, immune systems, nervous systems, and our muscles. Our immune systems release reactive oxygen molecules known as free radicals by the use of our white blood cells. Our body does this naturally to destroy damaged cells. When a free radical is released it has an electron imbalance that makes them positively charged. That free radical then attempts to find an electron to neutralize it even if it means taking it from a healthy cell. If a healthy cell becomes damaged in this process more white blood cells are sent out and the process repeats. The Earth we live on is considered an electrical planet with a surface covered in negatively charged free electrons. Grounding allows for the endless supply of the Earths surface electrons to flow throughout the body eliminating any positive electrical charge and reducing the amount of free radicals present in the body. When our bodies go without connection to the Earths surface electrons, the cells in the body cannot balance the positive charge created within the cells. Research shows; too much positive charge in the blood can tend to clump together the red blood cells causing inflammation and poor circulation. There is substantial evidence to suggest that humans who ground daily and properly have reduced levels of stress and anxiety. Earthing has also proven, in most cases, to eliminate chronic pain caused by inflammation. Other research shows that those whom ground themselves overnight have been able to completely stabilize the body’s natural cortisol levels that have been imbalanced by stress and inflammation. How to properly “Earth” or “Ground” The question that remains is; How does one properly connect with the Earths surface? The most common and effective way is to go outside and place your bare feet in the grass. Wet grass is even better. Walking barefoot on the grass, sand, dirt, or even in water for at least 30 minutes a day can make significant and noticeable improvements to your body. What if you can’t get to an outside location to properly ground each day? The wonderful world of material has supplied the market with all kinds of ways to ground. There are grounding mats, silver bed sheets, and plug in conductive shoes. Be sure to do the research on what product will work for you and be sure to follow all safety instructions with whichever product you may select. Infants There is little to no research on how to properly ground an infant. As we all know, babies rarely get to come in contact with the ground. I have taken to Craigslist to do my own research on this subject and the following is what I found out. I created an ad in search of mother’s of new born babies that were very fussy or had been diagnosed with colic. I asked all of these mothers to carry their baby outside and stand barefoot in the grass ONLY when they notice their baby becomes inconsolable. I asked them to write down how the baby responded to this action. I asked them to do this until they have compiled a total list of ten responses. Of the 100 mothers and the 1000 baby responses, the baby immediately became calm 980 times out of 1000 when grounded to the Earth through the mother. I believe that evidence speaks volumes. Grounding is necessary for the human body. The science is undeniable. What are you waiting for?

I completely agree to what you are saying in this article -- thank you for sharing! I always love being barefoot in nature because I feel so connected to the world around me. It is a shame that we have to wear shoes and we have buildings that soar so high because it has kept us out of touch of the Earth. Usually a Massage Therapist is bare foot. This helps them come in contact with Earth's surface electrons.
This energy transforms through the feet, though the body, through the hands to the lucky client!
Some say standing in wet grass is best. Wet your grass, go out after the rain! Even taking a walk outside helps counts!
Other studies have shown Grounding/ Earthing may help lower blood pressure, reduce blood clotting, and more.
So get outside, stretch out and chill with the Earth! 🍃

being petite there was a time i wouldn't have been caught out of high heals , stiletto, platform, chunky, high healed cowboy boots, high healed sneakers lol , but some how i chose change ! i now walk everyday barefoot , stand on the ground look up toward the Sun feel the Breeze and get Cosmically Recharched
This is why I love living in a warm climate, on a daily basis I get to be connected to the Earth through my feet. It is a very different life than what I had before.
