Finding Balance In A Busy World

Written By Jade E.Gray

Hi all! I’m Jade, a wellness practitioner with over 10 years’ experience in health and

social care. Today I want to talk to you about that elusive wellness topic, balance.

Finding balance in our lives has become a bit of a hot topic in recent years, and I

think it’s because we’re trying to carve out time for everything while feeling like we

never have enough time. We’re trying to balance work life, home life, healthy

relationships and wellness. So, it’s no surprise there are moments when it can feel

impossible to keep all those plates spinning at once!

But before we let the plates crash down around us, let’s take a step back and think

about it from a different perspective. I’ve stopped using the word balance in my

wellness practice and here’s why. It always conjures up the image of precariously

walking a tightrope while checking my watch.

Instead of balance I like to talk about blend. What if we thought of life like our

favorite cocktail?

A life cocktail isn’t about an even distribution of life ingredients, it’s about

identifying what you like and what works for you.

By focusing on our values and things we want to achieve, instead of time spent, we

are much more likely to create a life that has just the right amount of everything.

Less precarious balance, more harmonious blend.
